RABBIT ANTI OPA1

Rabbit anti Human OPA1 antibody recognizes OPA1, also known as dynamin-like 120 kDa protein-mitochondrial, dynamin-like guanosine triphosphatase, mitochondrial dynamin-like GTPase, NTG and optic atrophy protein 1.

OPA1 product is a nuclear-encoded mitochondrial protein with similarity to dynamin-related GTPases. It is a component of the mitochondrial network. Mutations in OPA1 have been associated with optic atrophy type 1, which is a dominantly inherited optic neuropathy resulting in progressive loss of visual acuity, leading in many cases to legal blindness. Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for OPA1 (provided by RefSeq, Mar 2009).

Rabbit anti Human OPA1 antibody detects bands of 80-100 kDa. The antibody has been extensively validated for western blotting using whole cell lysates.
