Rabbit anti Human retinoblastoma-binding protein 5 antibody recognizes retinoblastoma-binding protein 5 (RBBP-5), also known as SWD1, Set1c WD40 repeat protein, homolog and retinoblastoma-binding protein RBQ-3.

Encoded by the RBBP5 gene, retinoblastoma-binding protein 5 is a ubiquitously expressed nuclear protein which belongs to a highly conserved subfamily of WD-repeat proteins. Retinoblastoma-binding protein 5 binds directly to retinoblastoma protein, which regulates cell proliferation. It interacts preferentially with the underphosphorylated retinoblastoma protein via the E1A-binding pocket B. Three alternatively spliced transcript variants that encode different protein isoforms have been described for RBBP5 (provided by RefSeq, Jul 2010).

Rabbit anti Human retinoblastoma-binding protein 5 antibody detects a band of 67 kDa. The antibody has been extensively validated for western blotting using whole cell lysates.
