RABBIT ANTI UBE2I

Rabbit anti Human UBE2I antibody recognizes the ubiquitin conjugating enzyme E2 I, also known as SUMO-1-protein ligase, SUMO-conjugating enzyme UBC9, ubiquitin carrier protein 9, ubiquitin carrier protein Ior ubiquitin conjugating enzyme 9.

The modification of proteins with ubiquitin is an important cellular mechanism for targeting abnormal or short-lived proteins for degradation. Ubiquitination involves at least three classes of enzymes: ubiquitin-activating enzymes or E1s, ubiquitin-conjugating enzymes or E2s, and ubiquitin-protein ligases or E3s. UBE2I encodes a member of the E2 ubiquitin-conjugating enzyme family. Four alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding the same protein have been found for UBE2I (provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008).

Rabbit anti Human UBE2I antibody detects a band of 17 kDa. The antibody has been extensively validated for western blotting using whole cell lysates.
