RABBIT ANTI USP16

Rabbit anti Human USP16 antibody recognizes the ubiquitin carboxyl-terminal hydrolase 16, also known as deubiquitinating enzyme 16, ubiquitin specific protease 16, ubiquitin thioesterase 16 or ubiquitin-processing protease UBP-M.

The USP16 gene encodes a deubiquitinating enzyme that is phosphorylated at the onset of mitosis and then dephosphorylated at the metaphase/anaphase transition. It can deubiquitinate H2A, one of two major ubiquitinated proteins of chromatin, in vitro and a mutant form of the protein was shown to block cell division. Alternate transcriptional splice variants, encoding different isoforms, have been characterized (provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008).

Rabbit anti Human USP16 antibody detects a band of 112 kDa. The antibody has been extensively validated for western blotting using whole cell lysates.
